Going for an elephant safari in Sri Lanka is an experience in itself. Elephant safaris involve a lot of thrill and adventure as one can view wildlife while riding on an elephant’s back. Tourists are also allowed to observe the elephants and follow their activities throughout the day. In Sri Lanka, there are quite a number of places where elephant safari is organized. Udawalawe Games Park is an ideal location to observe elephants. This games park allows camping and safaris for visitors. For elephant safari, tourists can visit Wasgamuwa National Park, Galoya, Yala National Park and Dambulla. The Yala National Park is a haven to a huge number of animal and bird species. Visitors on a Yala Elephant back safari can spot different birds and animals throughout the day. The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage looks after about 60 elephants.
